These are the final proteins/ cell concepts. For the DNA, I tried to mimic the paper cut out style, hoping to keep and bold an interesting aesthetic as mainly mentioned in my market research. Also, in researching the DNA and Histones, I tried to follow the most commonly occurring colours whilst experimenting with others. These colours seemed to be a range of reds, green and blues.
Doing the same with the centrioles and chromosomes in terms of colour, I found the centrioles the most difficult to design. I was stuck the idea of involving the spindles into the design, and trying to keep it interesting/ captivating.
The main inspiration behind adding the odd bright colours is from Fleet Foxes music video - "The Shrine", designed by Sean Picknold. They incorporated the paper cut formation with illuminous colours, making the subjects stand out more.
