In this revision, I thought about adding a little more chaos but making the hatch stuck in place so it wont shut. The BDE would have to find a way to get the mechanism to release. So, instead of cutting the wires of the bomb with the sword, if it was a heavy broad sword it would give enough force to break the hatch and it would then shut. Maybe using the sword to keep the hatch shut, so when the bomb explodes, the doors won't swing open.
