After some more mesh clean up, the next step was to create some more detailed eyes. I followed the tutorial from the JPJ pipeline, but I receded the geometry a little deeper and placed a button and threat as the pupil/iris.
For the hair, I decided to use a simple rounded model so to use normal maps the create a twisted yarn appeal, then used curves and a warp deformers to place/model them onto the head. The throat seemed to cause a few problems due to the large sizing Firstly I made a cylinder with a few edges the I used a cylinder top to snap vertices to try and keep the edge flow clean. Currently, it's a little narrow but I want to place the teeth/tongue in now so to make sure the mouth will look right when animating.
The eyebrows may need a little more work, but I'm hoping the texturing will give them a "stuffed" material look and that they won't seem so stuck on. Next will be the last ear, teeth, tongue and some final details.
I feel like I am taking far too long to model the head but there have been a few experiments to try and capture the characters look correctly. I hope to try and speed up a little.
