To finish up the ceiling, I made the sun/moon and planet models and placed a little glow via the aiSS emission option. Doing this test (although it requires some fine tuning) gave a result that I really liked. So with this in mind, I feel I am going to abandon the idea of fairy lights and instead utilize the glow to create a faint night light effect.
Although I feel that my modelling skills are improving, I am still struggling with gaining good topology and edge flow. I am also trying to make the models as simple but effective as possible.
