Going back to concentrate on the "tapper", I decided to try an simplify the design a bit and remove any fur. Fur can be difficult to render depending on your computer hardware, so It was best to try and utilize a skin/ scaled texture instead. Also, I have to think about my own 3D modelling capabilities and if I would be able to capture a more difficult design.
As "Tappers" work in groups and are quite mischievous, they will be quite small in structure. This meant that looking at rodents was a better detail for their design. They will use their tails and strong blacklegs to make different "Tapping" signals and as they are a mimic species, they can create creaking floorboards sounds.
This new version would also allow more flexibility with speed and climbing, taking on some "rodent" characteristics.
This design is starting to hone down a bit more towards a final version, but there is still a little way to go. I also played with a little colour to see which would be best suited. As these creatures will mainly be in darker places or seen just out of the corner of the eye (like the wall cavities), I feel more muted/dark hues may be better.
