As today was our first life drawing lesson of year 2, we was introduced to our new teacher and different concepts of form capturing. We watched a few tutorials on using charcoal and how to enhance form though blocking/ shading, but as we was just settling in we was allowed to do as we would normally. As with blocking, we was shows how using cubes for measuring and shading could enhance the appearance of surfaces.
Also, our life model was unable to make today, so instead we used each other as models. Those who volunteered took turns of 15 - 30 mins, staying still is a lot harder than it looks. It quite obvious that am very rusty as I had to have long break from drawing due to mental health, so getting back to drawing feel alien.

First Attempt at Just Blocking |
My first attempt of using thicker pencils to grab only shading didn't work out well, but I aim to keep trying. From next week, we will be using charcoal, so this will be interesting to see how this comes out.
